Craig and Steven Staff's '36

The owners of this truck are Craig and Steven Staff. This truck has been in the family since 1961. Their father got this truck from a friend that owed him $100.00 dollars in 1961. The truck has gone through many changes and upgrades. It has always had a 6 cylinder and always will have a 6 of some kind.

The truck is a 1936 1/2 Chevy and is all steel. It can be street driven if we desire to. The suspension is all factory accept traction bars and front disc brakes. The tires are 24 x 5 front and 26x10 in the rear.
	The motor is a 292 bored .060 with 13.2 compression Aires gas port pistons, 7.25 long Aluminum rods, Sissells crank shaft, our own custom built oil pan with windage screen, a custom roller cam with .750 intake .730 exhaust 318-324 duration works the severe duty 1.94-1.60 valves, our own custom lump port head flowed by Sissells all the valve train is Crower. A converted Mallory unlite distributor with a MSD 6AL fires the motor. A pair of Holley 450 cfm carbs meter the fuel while a set of custom step headers that we built releases the burnt gases. A pair of two chamber Flowmaster mufflers. A aerospace remote pump mounted in the frame keeps the water moving and a desert cooler radiator keeps it on the cool side. The transmission is a turbo 350. A 8" TCI convector and a Hipster trans brake helps the truck launch at 5000 rpm. A Ford 9" with 4.56 gears and Moser axels. We shift gears at 7200 rpm and go through the lights at 6800 rpm. Our best ET is at the 1/8 mile 7.23 at 94 mph. The truck weights 2900 lb race ready.
The motor makes awesome power so now we are going to work on the suspension upgrades. There are so many details about the truck I did not mention. It would take me a week to type it all. I would like to Thank Mike Kirby at Sissells for helping us. A lot of our parts are made in my brother's (Craig) machine shop. Its a pretty awesome deal when you can run with guys that have big blocks and nitrous. They hate it when they get beat. Its like a cancer it just eats them up inside!
