Clyde's
'62 Chevy II convertible
This is Clyde and Dell's '62 Nova convertible. I
stumbled across this car through my dad's barber. I had always wanted a 1st
generation Nova and a convertible was great! The car had been sitting in a
garage for 10 years and had dust 1/4 thick. The transmission was in the trunk
along with a couple of bad throw-out bearings and a damaged clutch fork. The
interior had been used for storage in a packed garage. Found a few snake eggs
and bird nest on the inside as well. The 10 year old gas had turned to goo, so
I replaced or rebuilt everything from the tank to the intake. The engine is a
stock 230 from a 67 Camaro and the transmission is the original 3 speed
manual. I have been working on it for about 9 months now working on looks and
mechanical all at once. The body needs some work but Della's has been
polishing it so it looks the best for now. I plan to add headers and 4 barrel
intake later after I get a few more bugs out of it. My post (62Clyde) on the
board show some of my issues along the way. Thanks to all that has provided
advice along the way.
