Bill and Diana's Magic Carpet Ride
This is "my wife's" 1941 Plymouth powered by a 250
cu.in. Chevrolet bored +.030, 307 flat top pistons, Comp Cams 260 H cam and
valve train new from crank pulley to rocker lock nuts, Head has major rework
with 1.90 / 1.64 stainless pro flow valves and hardened exhaust seats, a
complete MSD ignition, and a Q jet. I run an early model medium duty truck 292
exhaust manifold with 2 1/2" exhaust into muffler with two 2 1/4"
tail pipes. Transmission is a 700R4 with a 2400 rpm stall converter, internal
modifications, and an electronic converter lock up control. A nine inch
Ford rear w/3.50 ratio and Strange SS axles is used. Brakes are four wheel power
disks. Creature comforts include Vintage Air HVAC unit, digital cruise
control, electric wipers, tilt steering, and power windows. This car was built
to travel in, our plans are to let it see both oceans in the next few years.
