Here's our project.  The motor is a 1968 250 ci out of a Suburban.  It has been bored .040" over and the head has been ported & polished with sb V8 valves.   I'm running a HYD cam from Comp, with a set of roller rockers, Clifford headers and intake, and a 390 Holley.  Behind this is a 700R4 feeding a `57 Chevy rear with 4:11's.
