What is a good source I can use to purchase a couple of air filters that measure about 1.5 inches in height with a diameter of approximately 6 & 3/16th inches?

I have two Rochester single barrel carbs that I am using on my 235 cubic inch 6-cylinder passenger car (57 chevy).

My email address is: elane352@yahoo.com

Eddie
patricks 520-836-1117 about $15 -20 each as I recall

Yes I received some from Patricks already. God bless him too. He sent me two for free as a kind gesture since I had previously ordered a valve cover from him. They are too tall. I will call him back and ask if he has any smaller ones.

Eddie
He has 2 styles; one stainless set that fits the Fenton intake and another smaller thinner one for most other intakes (the fenton dual intake has wider spacing between the carbs than ,ost other intakes so can take a larger diameter air cleaner)

If you are looking for performace you can go to K&N's website and search their filters by size.

I have not heard of Patricks. So can't say anything about that.

I know that Chevsofthe40s.com also has quite the assortment of filters/cleaners.

You’re missing out. I just got my ’09 catalog with all kinds of new stuff. If you call that number above and ask for a catalog you won’t be disappointed. The detailed engine identification information with pictures as well as conversion articles, etc is second to none.

It is also easy to construct custom aircleaners from aluminum sheet. I've built a couple by going to the K&N website and picking out a convenient size. Because the circular elements can be deformed to any shape, you can pick a shape that works for your carbs and installation space. Cut out matching top and bottom sheets, put on some L-brackets to locate the inside of the element with pop-rivets, and clamp the element between the top and bottom sheets. Highway signs are on tempered aluminum blanks which are stiff and durable, and are usually available used from the local street department. While this is not the most elegant approach, it can look decent if polished.

CurtB has a really awesome air cleaner he made for his truck. Since we both have similar occupations, it just shows how you can take that sort of part to a higher level. Ask him for a link to his truck pics and you'll see other very nice parts as well that he's made!
OK, I'll ask: CurtB can you post a link to yoru truck so we can see the air cleaners???

I was reading DougE’s post and thinking this guy is reading my mind. Here’s my first attempt at an air cleaner from aluminum plate using K&N filters:

I’m trying to find time to put the body color in the valleys like I did with my sidecover:

Thanks for the compliments guys.

run some Ford Holley 1 bbl carbs from a 50's inline Ford, and you would reduce the overall height by a couple inches with would allow you to run most air cleaners.
These carbs have a beveled rim, so you would either need to adapt the base of the Ford air cleaner to whatever it is you want to use, or mill/grind off the bevel so you can use a conventional filter base. An adapter ring may still be required depending on diameter. I believe we discussed this awhile back, didn't we elane352?
