Hey guys. Finally got my offy intake and holley 390. Put them on and waited like 4-5 hours for the gasket sealer to seal, but when I start it up, it has an extremely high idle. Like probably about 3000rpm. I can't figure out what is wrong with it. The secondaries aren't opening, I can screw the idle mix screws in and it won't kill it, and the only way to kill it is to turn it off or push the linkage back and close the throttle plates. Even through I've adjusted the idle speed screw all the way back, it doesn't go all the way back and keeps the idle very high. I've plugged the 2 unused vacuum ports and plugged the timing port into my dizzy advance. Any ideas?
You have a vacuum leak somewhere?

Does it still idle fast when you disconnect the throttle linkage from the carb? Find out why you have to push the throttle closed.
Is the electric choke causing it to idle fast? The choke fast idle adjustment is almost hidden on the lower right side of the carb.

Turned out is was the fast idle adjustment on the electric choke.

Just read your guys comments and good guess Ron.

Now I just gotta mess with it to get it to idle smoothly
