Hi does any know if there is a short and long water pump for a 1957 235. putting a 57 in a 54 the 57 pump I have is 2 inches longer than the 54 can I find a pump that is shorter? Thanks.

You can press down the fan hub and use a shorter pulley. Make sure you support the impeller end of the shaft, not the impeller itself, or you may ruin the pump. A WP pulley from a long pump SBC can be used, or a WP pulley off of a Ford six can be used.

Patricks sells a "kit" that is a shortened pump and pulley.

You could also buy an adapter plate that will alow you to use the '54 pump. It will require drilling and tapping two holes in the block. Reuse the '54 damper as well then.

Just wondering.............am doing a 216/235 swap and will the pump off the 216 bolt up to the 235 and fit with no problems?

If the 235 is '55 second series or later you need the above mentioned adapter. I'm not sure about the earlier 235s.
