Inliners International
Hi all!
I'm Jethro. I was introduced to the Inliners by a friend of mine who is the Canadian Northwest chapter head , Lance Brown
I'm working on a 1930 Ford Model A coupe with a 292 that I have made a Hilborn style EFI system. I have fabricated and machined all the mechanical part of the injection system and used all GM sensors and ECM. I had a wiring harness made up for me by a guy in Indiana who specializes in GM EFI harnesses.

It looks great! How's it run?
Jethro:

Outstanding job!

It looks like the intake manifold is made up of two main components: 1) A typical "Hilborn" set of throttles and velocity stacks and 2) custom fabricated pieces from the 3 intake ports, split into 6 runners that match up to the back side of the throttle plate. Were all these pieces fabricated or are some of them "off the shelf" items, and if so, more details would be of interest!

One question: Have you had any problems with the injector hard lines absorbing too much heat from the relatively close proximity to the headers?
jethro,
neat looking setup! sounds good too! I agree with Russk, you may have heat soak from the exhaust. May have to simply shield or insulate the tubing.

One problem I ran into with multiport EFI is"charge robbing" between adjacent cylinders. The way I fixed mine is to make a port divider to go between the cylinders in the intake port(in head). My engine ran much smoother and produced more power after doing this. It will reduce air flow in the ports though. Tom

I am glad to see you finaly came over to the inliner. Great Job \:\)
Sounds good.

Is this the build that's over on the HAMB?

Glad to see it running (regardless if it is the one on the HAMB or not) congrats. \:\)
Thanks guys!
I'll post some of my previous build pics another time.
I'm sure I'll be quizzing some of you gurus about my tuning issues....cheers!
Very nice Jethro!!! Which GM ECM are you using?
Wow, that's awesome.

It's a 1227727 from a mid 90's 3.1 v-6. It's a very common ecm an equivalent is 1227730 the only difference I'm told is the 727 is weatherproof for underhood mounting
Are you running it with the V-6 tune or did you burn a custom prom? I am using the 1227730 ECM on my project also. Are you using the ECM to control ignition timing?

The guy that made my harness supplied a prom with it. I'm not sure what kind of "tune"is burned on it.
As far as the distributor I've got a Mallory magnetic breakerless distributor that I modified to lock out the advance and used the pickup coil only for a trigger. I used a GM 8 pin module with an external coil and then have the ecm control advance......I guess all you wanted to know was the last part.
Very Cool!!! THANKS
