Hey Ron,
Nice video, but it really doesn't do justice to how gorgeous and professional your truck really is. Post some still pics for us to drool over.

That is a sweet sounding machine, doesn't move half bad either, haha.

Oh, if only the Kirby head was available to us as much as aftermarket heads were for SBC's...or any other engine series for that matter. The possibilities would be endless.

I've talked to Kirby several times this summer, most recently in late July. He is in the process of machining (25) heads right now. They have been available for a long time, since the early 80's, its just the cost that turns people away from them, because the demand is relatively low compared to a SBC or more popular engines. If he could make several hundred at a time, that would bring the individual cost per head down considerably, but the (25) he is doing now probably represents only about what you will sell in about 4-5 years, unfortunately!

Just curious, how much does a complete Kirby head go for?

It depends on the final stage of porting that is done to it. But its the whole package that really gets you. Since you have to buy his intake and valve cover, build a custom header, and use special valvetrain components, you can be easily over $5000 before you can crank the engine with just the head and its required components. Since no professional racing sanctioning body allows it to be used in the USA, the only usable market for the head is someone outside the USA with deep pockets that wants an aluminum head for these engines that doesn't have rules restricting them from using it in their racing organization, and is allowed to use it or someone that has a vast amount of disposable income to build a real high end street rod or other type of hot rod.

Still waiting on the pictures \:\)

This truck reminds me of my truck from years ago.
