Ready to put my 261 together can someone supply me with all the Torque numbers I will need. What I really need is a manual for this engine. Can't find one. If someone will scan and e-mail a part of the manual that would be great. My engine is out of a 1959 (Canadian) Pontiac car. Does anyone know were I can pick up a manual ??? Thanks.......

Conductor,Here are some torque specs for a 235 which is the same family as a 261.
Head Bolts 90-95 ft.lbs.
Main Bearings 100-110 ft.lbs.
Connecting Rods 35-45 ft.lbs.
Rocker Shaft Assm. 25-30 ft.lbs.
Manifolds Center 15-20 ft.lbs.
Ends 25-30 ft.lbs.
Timing Cover 6-7 1/2 ft.lbs.
Oil Pan Corners 12 1/2 ft.lbs.
Flange 6-7 1/2 ft.lbs.
Water Pump 25-30 ft.lbs.
Fuel Pump 15-20 ft.lbs.
If there are significant torque differences in the two engines,I'm not aware of them. Hope this helps.
