What is the difference between a stock 235 camshaft and a stock 261 camshaft? Lift, duration, impact on performance.

I'm putting my 235 back together and have an extra 261 cam. My understanding is the 261 cam was used in early corvettes so I'm thinking it would be fun to have a slightly different cam in my truck's 235.

Thanks for the help,

Ted

Wow, I looked at a lot of engine information but didn't find any to help with understanding the difference between a 235 cam and a 261 cam; or I don't know where to look. any other suggestions?

Thanks,

It's on page 6-6 in that link. It shows a side by side comparison of them. 235 is on the left and 261 is on the right.

261 cam has 25* more duration on the intake and 13* more duration on the exhaust then the 235 cam.

Federal Mogul has a good app. for finding part numbers. If nothing else, its' good for finding out specs on oem parts.
