What is up with the 302's for sale on Ebay? Anybody talk with him? Prices seem high but I don't know what it would cost to rebuild a 302;thinking somewhat less. Coming from an individual you don't have the advantage of your machinist locally to ensure done correctly.

Those are pricy but all new with good parts. His feedback is 100% . I went through a few pages of his feedback and didn't see any from engine buyers. It is hard to believe it would cost that much to build one.

Just starting disassembly of two 302s today. Then two 702s next. David

Seeing that the individual engine core pieces are over 50 years old when you find them, they tend to need a full recondition to be brought back to life. I see a cylinder head often for $1000 needing to be totally reworked and a block for $700 bucks. So by the time you buy all the core parts if your starting from scratch, the $5000-$6000 for a completely remachined and rebuilt 302 with new internal parts for that amount is really about right on target.

I think I still have most of the receipts for building my 270 in the '70s. I'll try to find them and see what it cost to build one then. None of the shops I used then are still in business but the 270 runs great. cool
