To All, I am wanting to build a mild street/strip engine for my '57 Chevy. I would like to RENT a torque plate for this build, as buying one is cost prohibitive for my budget, and I only plan on building one engine! Does anyone have a torque plate within driving distance of Atlanta, Georgia? I will put down a hefty deposit, and pay a rental fee for it's use. Thanks,
I can vouch for tlowe's torque plate. He shipped it up to my engine builder in Connecticut. Worked perfect! Even the owner of the shop was impresed.
Check with your machine shop first, there was a lot of 6 cylinder racing going on in our area back in the 70's and 80's and a lot of shops had torque plates for them. If you don't have any luck then you can consider Tom's.
Or you could try contacting prominent racers who raced them to see if they have one sitting around. I recently purchased one from an estate like that.
