Hello all! I put in my first straight motor (230) and it runs great but she’s not breathing well. As far as I can tell there is no port for a pcv valve so it goes inline from the Holley carb to the valve cover barb? Also should I add a breather for the oil fill or not necessary?

Thank you so much!

You will need some sort of breather for fresh make-up air to replace the fumes that get sucked from the crankcase. The best solution is a breather cap that has a hose leading to the clean side of the air cleaner so the make-up air is filtered prior to entering your engine. Short of that, just a breather open to atmosphere will work. Without a breather the engine may start sucking contaminated air past the crank seals etc. to make up for whats being sucked thru the PCV valve.

Thank you very much. Its a street rod with a hilborn scoop so going to the air cleaner won’t happen. I’m going to run an open breather.

I put a K&N filter breather cap on my 292...I think from Speedway.
