Dumb question but how do you guys remove timing gear from crank when crank is already out of motor?? I have a puller on it and not budging. Tried heating the gear and still won't pull off! Just using an impact on puller since its out of motor I have no way of holding crank and putting a breaker bar on it

It's going to sound counter intuitive but try moving the gear slightly in the other direction. Put a large socket that will clear the snout of the crank and rest firmly on the gear. Now take a BFH and give it a rap or two. Then go back to the puller.

Bolt it to a flywheel or flexplate. Or strap it to a board.
