So i know the torque specs of 70# for the main bearing caps... however i can’t find any mention of a torque pattern (like the head does). Is there a specific one... either i just keep overlooking it, or they don’t specify.

No, there is no set pattern for torquing the mains. Just start at the front main and work to the rear, skipping the thrust bearing for last since you have to set the thrust clearance. Also, many mistake the rear main for the thrust on inline engines. So make sure you don't install the thrust bearing into the rear main cap, it will damage the bearing.

So which IS the thrust bearing? When i disassembled the bottom end it DID have the thrust bearing in the rear...
Time to ignore how it was previously put together apparently.

Sorry I was answering similar questions about two different brands on different forums at the same time and forgot which question I was answering! Yes, the Chevy 6 has the thrust in the rear main.
