Hey, I was wondering does COMP CAMS make a cam for the 292?
REPLY BACK!
They don't list any for 292's in the online catalog, but they will make you one if you talk to them. They are one of only a few companies that carry steel billet blanks for monster rollers. As far as milder streetable cams go, try Crane, Clifford, Crower, etc. for ideas. Their catalogs show various offerings.

JC Whitney sells a "torquer" cam for the 292 made by Elgin. Pretty good deal. You can get the cam w/matching lifters for <$100.
Has .464I/.490E lift and 194I/204E duration at .050
So you can use stock springs and rockers and get a decent increase in torque and a tad more high end. This is the cam currently in my 292.
