what carb fits on the offenhauser 4 bbl intake for a chevy 250/292 inline? I got an adaptor but I really dont want to modify the carb linkage to work-I would like to not use the adaptor. thanks
I have a 500 CFM Edelbrock sitting on top of mine. I had to use a 1" spacer to prevent inteference of the carb throttle with the runner. See pictures.

You still can't use your stock linkage. Not unless you can somehow weld an adapter onto the Offy intake. Just get a Lokar-type throttle cable and thread it underneath the intake and run it back up over the top. You'll have to make your own cable linkage support piece. I'm not using the stock linkage but I will keep my stock accelerator arm. Later!

You can run either carb. the Holley or the Edelbrock. And because of the fact that the carb sitting 90 degree to the intake The stock linkage will not work. I have made linkage to help in this matter and for those who do not want the cable linkage. and works pretty much with most stock linkage with less mods.
Take a look and see if this may help. http://www.homestead.com/memorylaners/MLRS.html
