I need the washer/spacers that are used to mount the intake/exhaust to the head. Where can I find these new? Thanks.

If the local parts store can't get you the alignment rings, then most any aftermarket Chevy parts vendor can. Try the "links" section...

Thanks. I wasn't sure what to call them.

I think you're referring to the "clamps", that together bolt the intake and exhaust to the head. Those are just referred to as "intake\exhaust mounting clamps" I think. If not, then you can pass that description along to any GM parts counter person (along with a your engine casting number) and they should be able to get what you need.

If this part is no longer available then call around different salvage yard. Most will let them go for 5-10 bucks at most. Get as many as you can possibly, while you're there. It's not like they'll be back in production.

Also, the 216-235-261 series clamps will work on the later 194-292 sixes. Might have to do some minor work at the grinding wheel but they'll hold true.

You may need both sets of parts.

The 'alignment rings' (3) are internal between the intake manifold and the intake port(s).

The clamps/washers (4) depending on year/manifold design, are external and hold both manifolds to the head.

These items have a different purpose/function.

Good luck. \:\)

So my best bet is the stealership? The yards around here think everything they sell is gold and not to many have early trucks. Thanks for the help.

Try Tom's Truck Parts @ (918) 542-3871 for both sets. He should have them all.

Good luck. \:\)

Thanks I will give him a call. You also are saying that I do need the alignment rings for a 292?
Posted By: gearhead Re: Where to find - 04/07/06 02:59 PM
alignment rings are for the 216/235/261. Not the later engines. I had thought you were refering to the earlier engines...

I do not if Tom still has them, but Stovebolt sold aluminum manifold clamps. They are not in the online catalog. May be worth a call.

I think we all were.

In the future please state what engine/vehicle your working on. This way we all don't waste our time.

I am very sorry if I confused anyone. I am used to the other boards I visit that have a much smaller crowd. I am in fact refering to a 292. Once again sorry for the confusion.
