putting in a 250 inplace of my 216 what does it take please help or im putting a v8 in it lol just kidding

It will take a new motor mount crossmember, the 250 mounts at mid motor like a V-8, your 216 it mounted at the front of the engine. The transmission will need swapped out and a new crossmember made for it. A new driveshaft and rear axle will need to be installed if your car or truck has a inclosed driveline or torque tube.

thanks would i be ahead to weld in home made mounts or does some one make a crossmember for the car its a 50 chevy car i allso have a t5 from a s10 and a 57 rear end but im all new to this i allways had drag cars so if i didnt need it we cut it out thanks for ur help

guys thanks for the info this will be my first car that i wont be banging it at the drag strip so i thank im going for the old school look thanks

If you don't already have the 250, you might consider a 235/261 or the GMC 270/302 if you are after more old school looks.

That's good advice.

The 235/261 is simple and inexpensive to do with a minimum of parts etc.
