Dear Jason;

I would look for a 261". It's a 'bolt in' so you save all that conversion etc. Can be built to almost 300cid too.

Good luck, John M., #3370

Jason
The 250s came stock with 145-155 hp.The 194 for head would up the compression on the 250 block to about 10-1 or more depending on the piston used. Hope this helps. for your plans.

jason,

first, the 194 was rated at 120 hp. second, if you do go ahead with the engine swap and plan to build the 250, check the 194's exhaust ports. early 194s had siamesed exhaust ports which don't exactly make for the best exhaust flow, and can be a bit of an issue with headers. if the 194 head does have siamesed exhaust, you may be better off milling the 250 head for higher comp.
