I'm looking for any technical drawings, blueprints, templates, measurements or information on the dimensions of a chevy 250 head. Does anyone know where I can get this kind of information?

I'm going through school for advanced manufacturing right now. I'm getting really good with technical drawing and CNC machining, which go hand in hand, and I would like to make an intake for my chevy 250. There's easier ways to go about this I know but I would really like to model it as well. I don't know if anyone has information like this available to them but every little bit helps.

Greg, get your calipers out and start drawing. Most guys that work on these things rarely go to the trouble of digitally modeling the head of an old inline. Kinda like asking gramps to polish up his gameboy skills :p (no offense intended)

The only hard part is if you don't have a head handy.

Yeah, I can understand since these engines basically predate computer modelling. Still, I think it would be great to add an intake model to my engineering portfolio. And I like the CNC idea. I'll just have to get my hands on a head \:\)

i say get a gasket for your intake...then use the bolt patterns and flange holes and all that and use that as your starting point...from there u can pretty much do whatever u want...but when making mounting plates etc...use a gasket and trace it to the metal...use aluminum for sure though...but normal steel will work too as long as u can protect it with something that will withstand fuel and water etc..

Yep, looks like the easiest way will be to get at it myself. Probably better over all. I like that gasket idea. Shouldn't take me more than a few minutes with that. Good I love inventor! \:\)
