Just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of my engine. I finally got it running decent enough to idle so I could set the timing, ect. The carb to manifold gasket supplied in the rebuild kit did not have the correct hole for the vacuum feed. So I cut a hole in the gasket. I'm just running on the center carb for now and will work on getting the others operational per Gearhead's advice.

I don't know if he should paint anything Tom. With those cool header pipes it fits the SW Bonneville style. I like it alot

Lookin' good. I figured that was part of it. I haven't seen a kit yet that used the right base gasket.

Oh, it's painted. Got that natural patina thing going on!
I may touch up the area where the fenders attached and leave the firewall and cowl alone.

I'm curious about the chassis frame too. Your design?

Yes, exactly Minnie Mo Model Z.

Gas tanks from an AC. I grew up on a farm. I like tractor parts.

The frame is from Spirit Industries. It's 27 T frame 128" long. 2" X 3" X 3/16" wall tubing. When I priced steel for a frame it was only a couple of hundred more for their's delivered.

Super Bell 4" drop axle with spring behind mounts and hairpin radius rods. Ford spindles with 11" Chevy mid-size front rotors and calipers. Reversed Corvair steering box. 10 Bolt Chevy 3.73 Posi rear with coilovers and hairpins radius rods.

The cab is a 51 Ford F1 chopped 4" and channeled 4". the bed is a shortened 65 Chevy stepside bed.

I got some from ebay and some from the local pick and pull. They still have some older car and trucks there every once in a while. NAPA still has them but for $200! \:o
