Can the stock Chevy 250 rocker arm slot handle camshaft lift of .489?

If not,what would be a good rocker arm to use?

Put it together and stick a paperclip through the slot. If it doesn't pinch the paper clip, you're good to go.

There are different opinions on rocker arms, but my personal budget choice is comp cams magnum rockers for big block chevy. They are roller tip and 1.72 ratio.

I was curious,I bought comp cams rocker arms.They claim will work with there 260H cam.

I measured the lenght of the slot on stock and comp cams rocker arms. Both slots were the same lenght.
