Hi All,
Has anyone out there ran a Carter Weber 2 barrel on a 194? I'm thinking of trying one I have from Langdon's that was on a 235 on my stock 194 Nova motor. Thanks.
I've not run a Weber 2bbl on a 194 but can't see why it wouldn't work great with the right jets.
The 32/36 Weber/Holley/Carter carb came stock on the 122cid and 140cid Pinto, perfect size to feed its 105 gross horsepower. So it should be very close on a stock 194/120hp Chev, and get super gas mileage as well.
I ran that carb on my Pinto, got 35mpg highway, 30mpg overall.
Thanks for the input. I went ahead and put the 32/36 Weber/Holley/Carter carb on today. It runs smoother than the leaky stock rochester, but I need to work on the idle and choke. It'll be interesting to see what the mpg is.
It turned out that the 32/36 Weber/Holley/Carter I have is from an 85 Escort, but the linkage setup was Langdon's. After it warmed up, I found it difficult to get the high idle manageable. I ended up putting a rebuilt Rochester Monojet off of a 78 292 I had in the garage on it and it runs great! When I first put it on and started it up it idled smoothly at 300 rpm to my surprise. I hooked up the choke manually. The 194 seems to like the Monojet just fine so far.
