If I put on a 2X2 on an engine (261) should I be putting in an electric fuel pump. I was told that this would be better to deliver fuel to both carbs, 2 to 4 LBs of pressure. Can a stock fuel pump do the job ? Carb fuel inlets are about 9 in. apart. Any other ideas ??

Are you increasing the power in a significant way? I would think that if you weren't then you'll be using (overall) the same amount of fuel with one carb as with two and the original pump would be fine.

Dear C;

Greg is right.

An electric pump increases the fuel volume & generaly has the same pressure as the stock one.

Good luck, John M....

Hi,

I am using 3-Holley/Weber 2 barrels and I use a new stock fuel pump. I have had no fuel delivery problems. It is a street car and not a race car.
