Turbo 4200 in '69 Firebird, turbo 300 in '71 Maverick, turbo slant six in a '72 Duster, and a hemi six in '72 Australian Charger. I don't recall ever seeing that many inlines in a mainstream magazine.

The owner of the 69 firebird has the engine up for sale - complete ready to bolt in with harness and tuned computer. Add a fuel pump/regulator/return line and good to go.

Hey Marc,
If you will start plugging 3.55 axle ratios for me, then I will start plugging 4200s for you! Deal?

Ed
You probably won't see all those inlines in a mag like like for a long time from now.
Usually there might be 1 inline write-up & those are few & far inbetween.

I was expecting more from the 69 Firebird w/the 4.2. What was the 1/4 mile time? Or what HP did it make?

IIRC, it's just a stock engine?

The 4.2 engine is a great platform to start with.

In the looks department,, it does not do it for me though, just M.O.

3.55's are a great gear to use, as long as you have an OD tranny.

I plan on using 3.3's - 3.5's in the future depending on tire size,, I will have an OD tranny also.

Theres 2 plugs.

I think it takes sharper people to swim against the bellybutton V8 crowd--who cant put a 350/350... in anything? Ho-Hum. But the mags have to run the chevy small blocks stuff to stay in business (just like nascar).

Keep the 4200 inline and a 3.55 behind! (another pair)
