I have a rebuilt 292 going in my 1979 C-10. Currently there is a integral head 250 in it. I know that the right side motor mount is located differently. Are there any adaptors made for this swap or does anyone have any info or pictures of how this is done?

AFAIK you will need to find one at your local wrecking yard. Making an adapter might be a little difficult. The fuel pump on the 292 is where the 250 motor mount is.

Here's a picture of the right side motor mount and where it bolts;

If I understand corrct, all you need to do is move the mount bolted to the frame to a different set of holes that line up with the 292. Atleast on that type of truck.

Problem with that is when you move it forward to holes on the frame (which there are some that may line up) the bottom of it is almost off the cross member. I've read to make a 6-hole plate that goes from the 292 block holes back to where the 250 mount is but I'm not sure if that is meant to bolt to the block or the mounts. And wouldn't that impart a slight tilt to the motor at whatever the thickness of the plate is?

I am going to face this problem soon myself, except my truck is a '68. I know that I need a right-side specific tower and I have been searching high and low and have not found one yet. I have one for a 4WD, but not a 2WD. I think I'm going to hang my motor/trans in place and see just how far off things are.

Try using a right side V8 frame mount moved to the forward holes in your frame and at the bottom the forward hole in your cross member. The V8 mount has a forward lean to it.
