Without porting the head, installing bigger valves isn't going to really be of much benefit. The key to these engines is the head work, without it, it will greatly limit the power output.

thanks for that input. so say i port the head are the rest of those specs worthy and would you say that motor would be a daily driver with some spunk.

What intake and carb would be used. Are headers going to be used as well.

got a clifford intake w/ a 38 webber, headers w/ 2 1/4 pipe. the exhaust has been on for a while the intake and carb are witing for me to figure out how to do the build.
How about some pics of your ride/engine?

YOU DONT NEED C/M PUSHRODS
VALVE SPRINGS SHOULD BE MADE FOR THE CAM
YOU SHOULD GO SCREW IN STUDS IF YOUR GONNA REV IT.
YOU SHOULDNT CUT THE HEAD ANYMORE THAN IT TAKE TO CLEAN IT UP
YOU SHOULDNT 0 DECK THE BLOCK AS THE GAIN ISNT WORTH THE RISK OF CRACKING UNLESS THIS IS JUST A TOY TO PLAY WITH
ALSO USE L/P PISTONS IF YOU CAN FIND THEM
JUST MY OPINION

Is this a street 292?
Looking for an ideal 292 build for a street engine.

YES I know george baker well for many years. L/P pistons are liquid propane pistons. they are higher compression than stock and work well with gas.

What about putting a roller cam on this build
Posted By: CNC-Dude #5585 Re: How would you rate this build.... - 02/11/13 04:31 PM
Without a well prepped cylinder head, a roller cam isn't going to provide a lot of benefit. Using a roller cam would require pulling out all stops as far as head porting, bolt boss removal, install lumps and aggressive porting mods. Seems like a long way from your original intentions.
