was told i might need to get new head bolts if i change my head gasket... true or false?
False unless you notice damage to the threads, to much corrosion, or are just wary of their age.
YEP JUST REUSE THE STOCK HEAD BOLTS AFTER A GOOD CLEAN UP. I USE A WIRE BRUSH WHEEL ON A GRINDER, ITS CLEANS EM REALLY GOOD WITH NO DAMAGE ALSO RUN A TAP DOWN IN THE BLOCK HEAD BOLT HOLES TO CLEAN THEM THREADS, IT GIVES A MORE PRECISE TORQUEING. NOW IF YOUR GOING SUPER HI-COMPRESSION ON A RACE ENGINE THE ARP BOLTS / STUDS IS THE WAY TO GO.
not gonna go very extreme just hone the cylinders and put it back together. thank you
Make sure you get them back where they belong. Espesially, the one drilled to feed the rocker shaft.
