Hi everybody! I am a newbie on here and to the chevy inline.
I am planning on building a 250 hot street six. I am planning on turbo charging the motor. I have purchaed and read parts of the inline power manual. I would like your opinions on where to start and a game plan to stick to.

Motor will be going into a 1963 nova wagon
Thanks.
Can you give us a starting point on what you mean by hot street engine. Do you mean 800 HP or 300 HP.

I think you will be good part on sites like eBay and amazon. If there is no money problem you need to purchase original parts

It looks like good project and you must share some pics to make it more interesting.
Here's a dyno test with a 250 done here a few years back that will give you the power your looking for.

read parts of the inline power manual

Most of your question is answered in the part you didn't read.

Just bolt in a 4200 with a decent exhaust and your at 300 HP in near stock form. All the parts except motor mounts are around to do the job.

Want more 6 psi on a stock 4200 is 420 ish HP...

Compete engines can be had if you look around for $1000.

Mods after that to install

oil pan + wire harness/retune == $1100

There if the 4200 bomb;)
It's pretty hard to beat the new technology if your looking for the most bang for thr buck. If your into nostalgia thats different.

I plan on keeping it nastolgic. I have been doing alot more research and reading more of the power manual.
I will start building my short block soon. So far this is what I got:
-stock crankshaft. Is there any mods I can do to this?
-bored .040 over and zero decked.
- forged pistons
-re-worked rods
- medium turbo cam.
Any suggestions?
