Very nice detail. Can you give closeup/info on the gauge. Is it temp or pressure? Jay 6155

Samstheman,
I am building a 1965 Chevy Stepside. My original 230ci had low compression in 3 cylinders and I bought a parts truck shortly thereafter. It had a good 250 so I freshened it up. The casting is 3994257 with GM and 69 beneath that. The stamped pad next to the dizzy is F1112TPT which probably is a 71 or 72 Chevy 250ci.

I will be installing a Borg Warner Camaro T5 with the S10 conversion. I rebuilt the T5 myself and it wasn't very hard to do.

Just curious, what 5 speed do you have?

I have a website with hundreds of good photos and tips and tricks. I have lots of good photos of the progress I'm making on the truck.
This is my website LINK to Website.

My t5 is out of chevy s10 with mechanical speedo. I had to shorten the trans snout put together different clutch package shorten the spacer behind splines move cross member for trans and shorten driveshaft. The throw on the shifter was long on mine
a friend showed me how to make a easy short throw kit. If u pull out shifter there is a pin in bottom going cross was threw shifter u pound out that pin and drill a new hole 3/4 of in down reinstall pin and put a 3/4 in spacer between trans and the gold plate with the for bolts and it changes your sift threw to more manageable distance or u can by hurst quick shift.

looks like u did a lot of great work there lugnutz Nice motor color

I used this Eastwood engine paint.

I'm pretty happy with the color. Others might comment if it looks correct for 1965 engine paint.

Do you have any photos of how you prepared your T5 for installation? Some guys cut the shaft back like you did and others are not comfortable doing that and use an adapter plate.

I hope you will visit my T5 website page. I'm trying to build a website page that shows what options people have when trying to retro-fit a T5 into an older Chevy car or truck.

My Website T5 Info Page.
Thanks,
Jay

no pics i used my old 3 speed trans as a base for measuring and made t5 the same
the only issue I had was the splines on clutch center needed a bevel on edge because the splined shaft stopped and I needed 1/16 more to get everything to mesh. I have about 6000 miles on mine. Shifts good and no complaint no pics hard drive failure on computer during that part of build lost pics.

You did what Mr Langdon has been recommending. Glad to hear it's working well. What is your 1st gear and what is 5th in your T5?
