I think it was actually an overlay with a Chevy V8 that jalopy45 posted on here. If you do a search for his posts, that might help reduce the search data to sort thru. I have it on another site but it requires a log-in to view it.

There should be this kind of silhouette comparison available here for all of the engines we regularly discuss here from the '25 Chevy 4 in the Spurgin/Giovanine roadster to the 413 Dodge in my shed. We need to be Inliners Information International. Well, except for those sucky ones that I don't like. \:D

I believe this is the link you're refering to.

Lengthwise the 4200 is slightly shorter than the 235. The only problem is that is has a fan clutch and the 235 doesn't, thus making is longer.

If you go with a electric fan, problem solved.

If you want some specific dimensions, I have a 4200 on the engine stand right now. I would be more than willing to help.

Thanks for the info. I am considering putting one in a 60's chevelle, I know how a stock 6 fits in it,just looking for some input from someone that's already done one. The post I was referring to showed the 4.2 overlaid on a 250 & a 292. Where their is a will there is always a way.

Why don't you just ask Leo ?
