I was told today that from 1982 to 1987, American Motors had a differential that used the same gear set as a "Metric" GM or S-10. That being a 7.5" Dia, ring gear. We are looking for a 2.21 ratio and apparently they were common in these years of AMC. I personally can't think of which car used these, but I am not familiar with AMC. This is an integral style crown and pinion, not a removable pot type. If anybody has one of these gear ratios (or even one from a GM product) or has info on where I can look, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...Don

Okay, this is old...

You were told wrong. The AMC 15 uses a 7-9/16" ring gear and is the same as a Dana 35, not GM metric. The only other axle used by AMC was the AMC 20, which has an 8-7/8" ring gear.
