Looking through e bay for six cylinder chevy exhaust,I noticed that there are tractor exhaust manifolds listed with the discharge at a horizontal away from the block. Is this manifold compatible with the late model six?.It looks like a good spot for a turbo.Speed secret?

Do you have a picture? It sounds interesting.
Typically the stock exhaust manifold does not flow all that well, put a 90 degree bend in it, = worse flow.

Still, a log type exhaust manifold for a turbo works OK, it's just not the best to get the most power out of a turbo set-up.

Some of the older JD combines used a Chev 292. I don't think a tractor manifold would work, but that's just a guess. Joe

I bought my 292 exhaust manifold for $120 on ebay. It was listed as a Massey Ferguson tractor 292 exhaust. It's identical to the chevy 292 found on a truck/car. If you check my blown 250 thread you'll see pics of it and my gloating about the ebay deal.

ps... The link to my post right here and this is the auction I bought.
