Hi guys!

here is some pics of my Exhaust Turbo manifold, all Stainless Steel, for my Pro Modified car.
Turbo downpipe will be 5", not finished yet.
The turbocharger here is a Borg Warner Bullseye S480, but the official one will be a Borg Warner Bullseye S491 Race Cover, 1.52, T6.
Now we are going to the Intake Manifold... Hope to get all ready to run this car in April.

IŽll keep you posted about the car progress!!

Thanks, guys!

Wow!

Wow indeed!

Is that the Sissel 12 port head?
Yes, Douglas,is that a Sissell head? ;-)
How the heck did you get that?

MBHD
Wow, How many Brazillion did that cost? \:D Really very impressive Douglas! Will there be videos?

Sissel gave Headrick one of the first ones cast, in the hopes that NHRA would allow aftermarket heads for Cotton's class in Comp Eliminator.....its still floatin' around somewhere around the shop untouched!

I talked w/Mike Kirby about the ealier versions of those cylinder heads,he stated that the exhaust port actually flows less than a stock cast iron head.

The intake flow was Ok.

Also you cannot get any parts for the earlier version heads at all.

The version that Douglas has is the latest cyl head & flows better everywhere than the older Duggan/Sissell ,Sissell versions.

Thats partly why it never materialized beyond that, even back then you had to fab everything, plus NHRA never gave the green light to use it. Also, Cotton's lump head, even though it was ancient in comparison, was still way better than Sissel could make the 12 head flow. And convincing Headrick to make the swap wasn't going to be easy for Sissell to do.

Yep! ItŽs a Sissell Aluminum 12 port head!
I have a really good friend in California that helped me a lot to get this one. ;\)
He also have one head like mine, and he is mean buzzen half dozen with his Camaro project!!!

Thanks Hank!!

Thanks!!
It costs me more time than money to get this head here in Brazil. This cylinder head is a dream come true for me. IŽm really sure that this head will make all the difference on the race track.

Yes! There will be videos for sure!!!

Do you have any flow #'s for that head you could share with us!
That head is a dream we can all relate to and it is good for the rest of us to know dreams can come true. It is especially nice to see someone get a quality part that will be used the way it was meant to be! Too many good pieces hang on walls or get trailered from show to show. Hang 'em up after you break 'em! Best of luck to you!

Yeah, I think the phrase " Drive It like you Stole it" is appropriate for those pieces(LOL)!

Cool, that looks like great progress. The intake and exhaust flanges look like products from the Mighty6 garage:) Do you mind giving out the cam spec?

Is this a methanol motor and what ECU are you planning on using?

Steven
ECU= fueltech Brazil make.

Methanol

if you make them for Mike, then those are your flanges. ;-)

Sorry Douglas, too slow on your responses.

I can tell you what mine flows on the intake,as I forgot what number on the exhaust, but I'll find out.

@ .600 lift it flows 320 SCFM.
I have the street port version w/a small round port opening of 1.71 ". The 1.71" intake is what is the limiting factor for the airflow, but my car will be a street/strip car.

2.08" intake.

Those are great specs, its about time a head like that finally became available, instead of the alternatives.

cnc,
problem is, that head is no longer available. i do not think mike kirby is going to make anymore, and that was the last one. maybe i am wrong. tom

Thats a bummer, it seems that the interest in these engines is so strong now, not just in the US, but abroad as well. Maybe he might reconsider in the near future before the demand and interest starts to fall away.

Thanks Steven!!

Those flanges are made by Mike Kirby, but for sure your car is an inspiration for me. I study a lot your pictures before make my intake manifold. I will send some pictures of it soon...

My cam is 306/321, .722/.691 lift, 112 lobe separation.

I will use Fueltech ECU (it's a Brazilian ECU), and MSD 7 Digital Programmable Ignition, with boost retard curve and HVC Pro Power coil. It will run on Methanol!

We doing some upgrades to the intake.

Nice Pic! Are you planning to use 3 Throttles bodies??

Here is some pictures of my intake manifold under construction, and the new turbo!

Douglas,
looks real nice!

Are you taking my advice on installing each injector directly centered & over the velosity stack?
I can't remember on what the distance the injector to the velosity stack should be though,,but it looks pretty good.

It's supposed to make more HP & torque.

Good luck with the rest of it!

Yes, we are going to use three 70 mmm throttle bodies.

Your intake is turning out great!

What is the static compression of your motor?

Thanks Steven!!
YouŽll use 4bbl style throttle bodies?? Like your old Set up, but three??

The compression IŽll use is 8,0:1. The motor is build to run with 30~35 PSI of boost. WeŽll try to reach about 1.400~1.500hp with that setup.

let me know wen you get your new intake ready!

We going to run a mono valve about 700 cfm each. The four barrel design was 1200 cfm. It is close to being finished. I will post a picture when I get one.

What rpm range are you targeting?

Stock or aftermarket crankshaft?

My camshaft is to rev about 8.500~8.800 rpm.
I will use Stock Crankshaft, full polished... Guys here in Brazil on the same class of my car are running the stock crank wihtout any problem!!

ItŽs a Powerglide, with dedenbear Case. 9" TCI Pro X Torque Converter, 5.800 stall.
