I would like to swap a GM 4200 inline 6 in my car and turbo it and I have a question about the transmission bolt pattern. Does the 4200 share the same bolt pattern as the 3800 Series II v6 engines. I would like to be able to use the turbo 400 and Gearvendor I already have and I saw that there is now a company that makes an adapter for the 3800's so I am hoping they are the same. Thanks

I have a Solidworks or CAD drawing of the bolt pattern and dowel locations for the 4200, but I have no idea if its the same as the 3800's.

Another question related to the 4200 bellhousing. I plan on running a late 4L60E (w/ bolt on bellhousing) behind my 292. I do not like the idea that the lower bolts of the bellhousing are not used (even though the older ones were not any different). Would it be possible to use a 4200 pan on a 292? Close or waaaay off?

Only if you used the rest of the 4200....
