Hello all,

New guy just found a Chevy 261 I will be driving out and picking up next weekend. Pretty excited. Hoping on some advise to throw it in the back of the truck and drive several hundred miles home. I know the quick fix is a couple of car tires under the block to soften the space and straps...I was thinking maybe an engine cradle....Harbor Freight or Jegs sells them..Photo attached from Amazon...but obviously remove the caster wheels then strap it down. I got a long distance to travel. Any suggestions, opinions do's and don nots? Appreciate the info.

Build you a 2x6 or 2x8 box and set the motor on the oil pan rails then just tie it down. Cheap and simple. You could even add wheels to it if you wanted. I did this for a 292 not long ago.
