I don't know where this post goes so here it is.

I bought a Chevrolet rear bumper guard for a 1920s / 1930s vehicle(I think)and may be for an early truck, I hope. It's primarily chrome with the center detail in stainless steel.

Is there some way I could post 2 pictures to the website in hope someone can tell me what it is?

Thanks,

Ted
I found out what it is, it's a front bumper guard with center pivot (to use a hand crank) for a 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe.

The car was that year's top of the line vehicle and was made only for the one year, 1940. There is a picture of the car with the bumper guard installed on it in the Standard Catalog of Chevrolet 1912-2003, on page 38.

There are two bumper guards and a cross bar in chrome with a center section topped off with a shield that rotates out of the way to give access to a hand crank used to start the 216 engine.

I have pictures of it, how do I post them to go along with this post?

Is there a market for this thing out there some where, is there a web site I can go to advertise vintage Chevy stuff or just go on EBay?

If you'd like to see some pictures email me at tedlazenby@gmail.com

Thanks,

A good place to find 1940 Chevrolet restorers who might want to purchase this piece is to advertise it in the Generator & Distributor, published monthly by the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA). See

God's Peace to you.
