Looking for a McGurk side cover for a 270 GMC. Saw one last at Bonneville last year. Anyone know of where one can be had?

Unfortunately, I don't believe that I have ever seen even a picture of a McGurk side cover for a Jummy . . . let alone the real article.

regards,

I talked to the guy who made the McGurk side cover you saw at Bonneville. It was one that Gary Cope has that this guy made. His name is Louie Mendez and his Phone number is 562 903 8986. He was at the Hot August Nights swap meet in Reno. He makes then for Chevy and GMC.

Here is a good alternative side cover source.

Check with Don Ferguson, #339, 310-379-4720, of GMC land speed record fame. He sold me a cast aluminum Wayne side and rocker arm cover years ago which I still have on my 302 GMC engine. They are beautiful pieces. Don runs a foundry and forging business so he may still have many sitting around.
