Anyone know or can point me to an internet source?
Thanks, Skip
So 200 pounds off the xke engine, if I can just make that carbon fibre hood/doors/trunk to get another two hundred...1400 pounds, no ac, no roof, no doors guts or glass, hand wiper, honda horn, odyssey battery, ditch the heavy air filter and battery mounts, and the heavy bonnet frame mounts, led and hid lights, small alternator, no ps or pb or ac, minimil chrome should go well with 400hp.
Am I correct in assuming that all the 4200 are the same form factor, so that I can get a cheap one to get it to all fit, then upbrade to the twin supercharged 4200 later? Thanks for the help. skip
Why use Lead Acid at all? Wouldn't one of the Lithium Ion batteries work just as well at a fraction of the weight?

Their were no twin supercharged production 4200 engines - if you want it you will have to build it from scratch..
It is my understanding that the first year production 4200's had slipping sleeve problems. Watch out for that.

Yep, I know a machine shop that has one of those blocks because the dealership gave it to them, future project I'm sure.
My twin supercharged comment was a little tongue in cheek, I guess its easier for GM to use the LS? for its SS Trailblazer.
How do you check for "slipping sleeves", and what years do you worry about? Can you tell by pulling the oil pan off, is it easy to see or ????
Any other specific problem areas to watch for the 4200?
My question on the "form factor" is, are all the 4200's the same? If I can find a blown up engine for cheap I would use it to fab the motor mounts, etc. then change out to a good engine later.
Phosphorus based lightweight batteries?
I'm going to the Turkey Rod run in Daytona Beach this weekend, maybe I'll find something. Thanks again for the help. Skip
If it's blown up then the only price that would be cheap is free.
