I just took my trans and clutch out of my 235 six cylinder to replace the pilot bearing and put it all back together and now I have no first gear and it does nothing but grind when I try to put it in second and third and reverse. This sounds like a clutch problem, I'm using the same clutch and pressure plate as before I tore it apart. Could it be possible that I put the clutch disc the wrong way? I didn't notice when I took it out. One side has a tapered nose on it that goes on the imput shaft and the other end is like the clutch disc's hub that sticks out about 1/2 inch past the disc. I think that side goes toward the flywheel, and the tapered nose goes toward the pressure plate, right? I don't remember how I have it, I'll have to take the cover off to check, if I can see that is. Or is this a new problem? All help is appreciated, thanks.

Think you got it wrong. Assuming that it is the same as the 292 and 327. Which I have done in the last month 3 times, that's 2 motors. \:D The "clutch disc's hub that sticks out about 1/2 inch past the disc" goes into the pressure plate. You didn't change the throw out bearing right?
