My bellhousing for my 67 Chevy C-10 has a broken ear where the starter bolts on. I have a donor 67 GMC 1/2 ton with a 305 V-6 with a manual. Does any one know if the bellhousings are the same? or are the bolt patterns different. Thanks Todd

Dear Todd;

I doubt if Chevrolet & GMC parts will interchange.

Contact Tom's Truck Parts & find out for sure. The # is: 918) 542-3871.

Good luck. \:\)

'67 bell housings should have the same pattern across all GM products in that vintage. L6s SBCs and BBCs. What engine/tranny are we talking about here?
When the SM420 was changed in '68 production lines to the SM465, a bell housing with a bigger front hole came out. The '67 bellhousing GM p/n:3815891 has a 4-9/16" Diameter. The '68 bellhousing, p/n: 3925505 has a front diameter of 5-1/8". The back-end mounting holes are all the same.
Do you still have the broken-off ear? A welder friend tells me that it is a soft, forgiving casting that can be welded back on.

The GMC V-6 bellhousings will only bolt onto V-6 GMC's. The bolt pattern on the back of the V-6 block is different than the bolt pattern on GM I-6's, small blocks and big blocks.

I stand corrected about the GMC V6s.
