I've got a late model Nove rear axle in the Sedan Delivery and of course it's too far forward that inch or so. Does anybody but Fatman Fab. make the parts to get it in the right place. They want to sell me new shocks and a sway bar and things I don't need to get the plates.

Try drilling a new locating hole in the plates you have...

I've heard Buffalo has some stuff, but I would try drilling a new hole first, but that's me.

If you are using stock springs you could try walton fabrications or Buffalo. The stock springs are pretty narrow and it is usually recomended putting in a wider spring setup. TCI has a kit for these that replace the stock springs, hangers and shock mount setup.

What I have done is drill the spring pad with a new locating hole 1&3/16 to tho front of the hole which is centered in the spring pad your going to use. Double check this measurement as my memory isn't always right any more. I also add a second leaf[longest leaf without the eyes on it] to help prevent wrap up, and remove 1 or 2 shorter leaves. to prevent raising car. I have also cut a main leaf just behind the rear end and cut the eye off and mounted it under the main leaf to prevent wrap up. There may not be anything you want to use here but this is stuff I done before There were custom made springs. OLD SCHOOL 1 OL REDNECK

What would keep me from just drilling out the rivets from the spring hangers and moving the whole affair back that inch or so?

Would moving the entire suspension back change the geometry to the point of having problems?

I really don't know? If you do it, let me know. Anything is possable if you redo it enough. 1 OL REDNECK

I've moved the rear end back by making a plate with two holes 1 1/2" apart and welding a sawed off bolt in the rear hole to fit into the stock hole in the rear end. I went on and just slid the u- bolts and shock mount back too. Drove it for years with no ill effects.

Yeah, I can do it that way I guess. I know thats the accepted and approved method. And I guess it also eliminates the posssibility of stress cracks from where the old spring hanger holes are. Is 1 1/2 inches the right distance back? I wanna make sure I get it centered nicely in the wheel well.

Besides, I guess anything worth doing is worth re-doing 3 or 4 times!

I dropped a line from the center in that wheel cutout and then measured to the axle. On my pickup it was 1 1/2". I think moving the springs is too much work for no real gain. But, as you say you could move them next time.
