Hi I have finally joined. I am building a 292 for my South African 71 Chevrolet Kommando wagon. Engine is currently pulled down at engine builders. I have purchased hi flow port lumps,Comp Cams 1.75 ratio rollers rockers,1.94 inch under cut intake and 1.6 inch exhaust valves plus spring kit. Aussie Speed 4 barrel intake manifold and MSD Atomic EFI Master kit. Parts bought but still waiting on. 292 Long rods,Ross forged 40 over 250 flat top pistons and cam from Tom Lowe. I have a bought a small cap HEI Distributor and coil plus cast headers that are ceramic coated from Tom at Langdon's. Head is now completed so waiting on other parts. Will be fitting a TH700 behind this engine and keeping column shift. original transmission is TH180.

Looking good.

I love my Langdon headers. You might have to trim the ears on your intake and grind down the spreaders a bit. My Offy intake has thinner flanges than the headers and interfered. A little trimming did the trick. Also had to trim for the temp sensor.

Here in the states we have a rattle can ceramic header coating you can use to touch up any trimmed pieces. VHT makes it. Works well.

Hopefully I will have my rods and pistons soon so engine can be completed and put on the dyno to tune

Well I picked up the final pieces for my 292 Chevy 6 build today and dropped them at the engine builders. They are the 40 over Ross forged flattop pistons . The billet Molnar 7.130 inch long rods to use with the Ross forged pistons for a 250 long rods allow this lighter piston to be used and lower piston speed. And Comp Cams camshaft a lifters .Now the engine can be built and then dynode .

Can you take more pics of the engine? That casting looks different than any I have seen. Noticed the double set of alternator bolt holes. Ours only have 1 set.
Get us the outher side and any cast # it has. Wonder where it was cast? Or the application.
