What are your thoughts on this setup on a 292, with a lumped 1.94/1.60 head, Tom Lowe's ductile iron dual exhaust and Offy or Clifford intake? I just saw this while browsing the Holley site for other options than carburetor. I was going to buy a refurbished 4160 and get Tom Lowe's three barrel kit, but this 2GC unit may be a good option.

Not to long ago I just did the smaller 2GC carb plate for a guy to mount one to his Offey intake. I also did one for a Reg. Holley sniper 2b which mounted at a 45degree on a offey for a guy who has a early 60s chevy van.

How much one of those adapters run a person? And what are your thoughts on the EFI? Or even running a 2GC? I have one I can rebuild that came off my other '65 3/4 ton. Looking for the best option to run on this engine.

Thus far my options are:
Properly calibrated quadrajet.
Rochester 2GC.
Holley 4160 with Tom Lowe's three-barrel kit.
Or the Holley 2GC EFI.

More or less in the order of preference. But I want to run the offset air cleaner assembly and I would have to modify it to run on a q-jet or holley 4160. Or would a 1G be plenty of carb for this engine?

There are two different size 2GC the smaller one was on the 283s and the bigger was on the 327,350s. I'm not sure which was on the 307s. But the bottom line is Go which ever way you want and the budget lets you.

I believe this one is a small bore, as it came off of a 283.

So there isn't really a right or wrong way to move forward, is what I am gathering from your response. I think I read somewhere on here where a member rebuilt a 2GC to run on their rig. I looked at mine last night and the throttle arm is nice and tight, no slop. I just don't want to be over-carbed on the idle circuit, and under-carbed for highway cruising. I doubt the 2GC would be under-carbed for the highway, but may be a tad over-carbed at idle. But I am not well versed in carbs or these engines. Still learning.

Larry, I have decided to use my 2G and to use a . How much would an adapter cost me? Offy 4 barrel intake and sideways mounting of the carb. I can run this setup, and then if I later decide to go with the EFI, I'll already have the adapter.
