1948 Fastback Buick Str8 - 06/26/22 04:28 PM
Greetings . . .
The annual Father's Day car show took place at the FA Seiberling Mansion in Akron, OH (co founder of Goodyear).
Inline engines were well represented. For me the most interesting car was this two-tone fastback:
The straight eight is no surprise - but the mods are straight out of the late of forties:
The Eddie Edmund's dual deuce is a nice piece:
along with his oil bath air cleaners (these are not the repops):
The 4-bolt Stromberg Aero carburetors are the OEM part for 1948. The fuel line routing is rather messy - and I am not a fan of the glass bowl filters perched above the exhaust manifold. But back in the day they ran them that way.
The Marvel Inverse Oiler is also a period piece
it does not appear to be hooked up.
regards,
