Does the Chevy 250 perform better with single exhaust or dual exhaust ? I have seen headers that have a single collector and some that have two collectors. Would it benifit any to run dual exhaust or just tie both pipes together into single exhaust ?
It mainly depends on what type of sound are you looking for, duals or single will work.

There is a related post under Engines - Factory dual exhausts on a 250
I think the last post on it was 7/16/09
I realize it is not the same question you are asking, it is just a related topic.

I agree with Hank, a lot of it has to do with the sound.
There is also some math involved to make sure you have a certain amount of back pressure. You can find places online to study that, but some back pressure is good.

Sound isnt really an issue, I am going to install thru hull exhaust on the boat and for HP/Tq would it be better for single or dual exhaust. I am reaaly leaning towards dual exhaust, but if it loses too much Tq then I will settle for single
Two ,2" pipes will work just fine.
