I burned my first ignitor by following directions. "8+6 cyl. need 1.5 ohms resistance across the coil + to - "
After I burned the piece, pertronix sent me another(6 day turn-around!). With the same instructions!!!
I called their tech line and was told that 6 cyls. need 3 ohms. I added a Chrysler style ballast resistor, which brought my resistance up to 3.1 ohms- no more problems.
I guess they have to use up all the old direction sheets before they print new ones.

Was that an Ignitor I or Ignitor II?

And what make and year of engine/distributor did you put the Pertronix on? I'm thinking of using one on my 64 Nova.
