I have a 49 Chevy Styleline and I'm trying to remove the radio. I have taken off the knobs and the nuts for the volumn and tuner. I have taken off the nut on the stud at the top of the radio. The radio is still firmly attached.

I can't find any radio or accessory manual and the regular shop manual doesn't list anything about removing thee radio.

Can anyone help me out?

thanks, Bill

I've seen this site before but the 49 is a different animal...I was hoping someone had the 49 instructions or had taken one out before.

Thanks for the help, Bill

Dear Bill;

Be very careful with the cables that attach the tuner to the speaker amp. as that radio is a two piece unit.

There's a guy in Washington state that rebuilds old car radios.

Good luck. \:\)
